This table was one of our first experiments to test how peel can be used to create large solid materials. The final result is not quite what we had in mind, but we learnt a lot in the process to take onboard for future pieces.
The solid table weighs 30 kg and consists of around 600 squeezed oranges. In other words, it is the peel that was left from squeezing 60 litres of orange juice. The table is finished with shellac.
Exhibited at the Design Matters exhibition at Bildmuseet, Umeå, November 2019 - April 2020.
