Frequently asked questions
What is the wooden disc for?
The wooden disc is used to stabilize the bulb holder, and its position can be adjusted to make sure that the lampshade hangs straight.
How does the material react to water?
The material resists small splashes of water but due to its natural recipe it will start to break down if soaked, left in the rain or humid environments for a long period of time.
Does the material burn?
The material only sets on fire after being exposed to a blazing flame for several minutes. We still advise you to use an LED bulb, because it will not generate heat.
How is the lampshade made?
First the biowaste is collected, dried and ground into powder or granules. The powder is mixed with our homemade binder and pressed into the final form inside a mold. After demoulding, the lampshade is left to dry over a week at room temperature. Finally, the lampshade is sanded to bring the surface alive and finished with a plant-based coating.
Is the product fully natural?
Yes. The raw materials are all biodegradable and made from 100% natural ingredients.
